Accreditation
  • Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
    Advocating for accreditation and quality assurance, CHEA "accredits the accreditor" through review and recognition of institutional and programmatic accreditors.

  • Middles States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)
    One of six institutional (formerly regional) accreditors.  Although no longer regionally-bound, the Commission primarily accredits institutions in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, The Virgin Islands, Washington DC.  William Paterson University is accredited by MSCHE.

  • Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
    One of six institutional (formerly regional) accreditors.  Although no longer regionally-bound, the Commission primarily accredits institutions in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

  • New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE)
    One of six institutional (formerly regional) accreditors.  Although no longer regionally-bound, the Commission primarily accredits institutions in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

  • Northwest Commission on Colleges and University (NWCCU)
    One of six institutional (formerly regional) accreditors.  Although no longer regionally-bound, the Commission primarily accredits institutions in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington.

  • Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)
    One of six institutional (formerly regional) accreditors.  Although no longer regionally-bound, the Commission primarily accredits institutions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia.

  • WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC)
    One of six institutional (formerly regional) accreditors.  Although no longer regionally-bound, the Commission primarily accredits institutions in California. 
    Assessment
    • Grand Challenges in Assessment
      A collaborative project focused on addressing grand challenges in assessment in higher education: (1) Using assessment to increase equity, (2) making assessment findings actionable to drive innovation, and (3) Using assessment to drive rapid and equitable improvements in pedagogy.

    • Assessment Institute
      The oldest and largest annual conference focused on assessment in higher education.

    • National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA)
      "The National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA), established in 2008, is a research and resource-development organization, dedicated to documenting, advocating, and facilitating the systematic use of learning outcomes assessment to improve student learning."

    • Association for Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (ALHEE)
      A membership organization with a mission to support assessment in higher education to improve student learning and institutional effectiveness.
