The Reopening Plan

William Paterson University plans to fully welcome students, faculty, and staff back to campus for the fall 2021 semester, which will begin on August 25, 2021. All students who are returning to campus in the fall are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, along with AFT faculty and staff and all non-union staff. People with approved exemptions and members of unions without a vaccination agreement in place who are not otherwise vaccinated will be required to wear masks while indoors on campus, maintain appropriate social distance wherever possible, and be subject to regular COVID-19 testing.

The University will return to on-campus instruction; in addition, a mix of online and hybrid courses will be available as they were prior to the pandemic. Campus life will return to primarily in-person programs and events and in-person interactions with peers, faculty, and staff. The Office of Residence Life will return to a traditional occupancy model for this coming fall. Student support services will be offered both in person and remotely. The University will continue to adhere to all state and federal guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe and healthy work and learning environment.
