Why Should I Transfer to William Paterson?

Advanced standing students are an important part of our undergraduate population. By providing you with a favorable evaluation of your college credits, excellent academic advisement, and access to undergraduate courses, we expect that you will be successful in completing your degree requirements in a reasonable period of time.

How to Apply

Application Deadlines
  • After June 1 - Rolling Admissions (Nursing applicants see below)
  • Fall - June 1 (Nursing applicants see below)
  • Spring - January 13 (documents must be submitted by January 17)
  • WPOnline Program Deadlines

The Fall General Nursing deadline is February 1 for receipt of applications and all required supporting documents. Applications received or completed after February 1 will not be considered for admission; there are no exceptions.

*Students with extenuating circumstances after the stated deadlines should contact the Admissions Office directly at 973-720-2646 or Admissions@wpunj.edu and speak with an admissions counselor.

Note: In order to maintain quality programs and student services, the University will adhere to the printed deadlines. Failure to submit complete official records of all prior college coursework will result in a delay in the application review process. Students transferring with less than 12 college-level credit must submit a high school transcript.

Requirements
  • Submit all official college transcript(s) (understand your right to privacy)
  • Please make sure that all the colleges you previously attended forward official transcripts of your college work, even if these courses are posted as transfer credits on your current college transcript.
  • Submit high school transcript and SAT/ACT scores (if fewer than 12 college credits completed).
  • Submit $50 application fee.

You will receive emails after you submit your application. One will be your Official Application Acknowledgement, which will contain your WP Student ID number. It will also contain instructions on how to check your application status and submit your documentation.
